The Graduate School of Foreign Language Education at Ewha Womans University was established in March 2009, grounded in Ewha’s founding philosophy of “Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.” Our mission is to cultivate professionals who contribute to society and the global community through excellence in language education.
Recognizing language education as a vital practice for personal growth and intercultural understanding, the Graduate School is committed to fostering experts who integrate theoretical knowledge with practical expertise from a global perspective.
Our structured curriculum supports educators in evolving from knowledge transmitters into reflective practitioners and educational leaders. Through field-based practicums in various educational settings—from kindergartens to high schools and affiliated institutions like the Language Education Center—students develop the pedagogical competence and problem-solving skills essential for the real world.
To meet the demands of a globalized world, the Graduate School actively promotes international collaboration. Through dual degree and credit exchange programs with prestigious institutions such as the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and Peking University, we provide students with invaluable opportunities for academic and global engagement.
Grounded in Ewha’s ideals, we will continue to advance the theory and practice of foreign language education, fostering a dynamic academic community that bridges local and global contexts. We hope your journey here provides a meaningful foundation for your growth as a dedicated educator and a global professional.
